Volunteer Requirements - STAND

Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer at the Sacred Heart School of Glyndon. 

Sacred Heart and the Archdiocese of Baltimore have a commitment to maintaining the trust of the faithful by providing our children and youth with safe environments characterized by healthy relationships. With our longstanding commitment in mind, all parishes in the Archdiocese use VIRTUS, a compliance management system that allows all parishes and schools to facilitate compliance with Archdiocesan child protection requirements for all volunteers who work with minors, employees, and clergy.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore requires that all volunteers* complete the following online STAND requirements in compliance with the AOB Code of Conduct and Statement of Policy for the Protection of Children and Youth:  (1) registration, (2) references, (3) background screening, (4) review of required documents, and (5) training.

All volunteers* for our school must be registered as a “Volunteer with Substantial Contact with Children” and must complete the above-mentioned requirements before the start of their volunteer service.

*Volunteers who have Substantial Contact with Children include, but are not limited to, ALL school volunteers, Vacation Bible School, C.L.O.W., Contemporary Music Ministry, Catechists, ALL Religious Education volunteers, Family Fellowship, Glyndon Area Players, Hispanic Ministry, Cub/Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus, Coaching and/or Refereeing, and any or all Youth Ministry activities.

Please note that this process could take up to 3 weeks to process and approve.  Last-minute requests will not be processed due to time constraints.
