The Sacred Heart School of Glyndon Advancement Fund is an essential program that is a vital support to our school, one that shows us the great generosity of our school and parish families and the great providence and love of God.
The Advancement Fund is our school’s annual fund, named to show what the fund does: advance our school’s instructional program. All dollars raised are used to support our technology program and fund instructional supplies used in literally every classroom (language arts, math, science, physical education, music, art, etc.). Additionally, roughly 10% of this fund each year helps fund our endowment. The endowment consists of invested funds that generate interest income to the school each year. These funds are used both to support the operating budget and to fund tuition assistance.
We strive for a goal of 100% participation in this effort each year, a 100% that includes our administration, faculty, staff, and school families. Many of our parishioner families, even those who do not have children currently enrolled, bless us in an incredibly significant way by participating each year as well. For those who are able, supporters donate directly to the fund, and they can do so with a one-time gift or by making a pledge to fulfill their gift over several monthly payments. Other families are unable to make a financial contribution. We understand and thank them for their prayerful consideration and hope that all school families choose to participate at the level they are able. Since some families cannot make a cash donation, they graciously participate by being active in our school fundraisers. Our HSA runs two fundraisers each year, the proceeds of which go to this Advancement Fund.
As we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Sacred Heart School, we will be asking that all faculty, staff and school families consider a minimum gift of $60.00 to the 2016-2017 Advancement Fund.
Your consideration to participate is something for which we regularly thank and praise God. Ultimately, a growing Advancement Fund means that we can support our budget and keep our tuition growth rate more stable and measured. Affordability remains a vital component of our mission, and this effort is a core way we achieve this goal.
